钱新祖（1940—1996），出生于江苏南通，当代著名历史学家、思想家，哥伦比亚大学历史系博士，曾任芝加哥大学副教授、台湾清华大学教授、台湾大学教授、香港科技大学教授、中国文化大学教授，协助创设台湾清华大学历史研究所和香港科技大学人文学部。1980年代钱氏率先将当代西方新思潮批判性地引入专业的中国思想史研究，在世界中文人文学术圈影响甚巨，拥有极高声誉。所译著的“时空性”“相互主体性”“比较分析的措辞”等重要观念用语至今仍脍炙人口。 译者宋家复 台湾大学历史系毕业，哈佛大学东亚系博士。现任教于台湾大学历史系。
